Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Specialized surgical procedures in the oral cavity

Surgical procedure
Operating room

Our clinic offers and performs surgical procedures in the oral cavity. These include extraction of impacted teeth (wisdom teeth, canines, etc.), removal of minor bone formations (exostoses, ridge levelling after extractions), and minor soft tissue tumours – of the oral mucosa, lips, and skin (retention cysts, fibromas, leukoplakia, etc.). We also perform soft and hard tissue modifications prior to the fabrication of dental prostheses.

Surgical procedure at our clinic

Piezosurgery

For surgical procedures, we use a bone piezo unit (EMS PiezoMasterSurgery) – an ultrasonic device for bone tissue preparation that is gentler than a conventional bur and results in fewer healing complications.

Laser

We use a laser for soft tissue surgery. With laser use, there is virtually no bleeding during the procedure, making it advantageous for patients with coagulation disorders.

Conscious Sedation

To increase comfort during surgery or suppress the fear of a surgical procedure, we can administer conscious sedation alongside local anaesthesia – a lighter form of general anaesthesia. Sedation is administered by a specialist anaesthesiologist who also provides immediate post-operative care.
